Hear my plea
Take the longing of my heartbeat
Make the melody
Hear my plea

Arelenne had never been fond of churches, for every time she went her ears were filled with 'women are sins' and things of the like. Sadly, most of the time it was her uncle saying this. If women were sins, then why did woman exist? It was a simple question. Arelenne sighed, uncomfortable with how she was sitting. She was on her knees, her head bowed and her hands clasped together on the pew in front of her. She had been praying, but now she simply did not want to go out and face what there was to face.

She crossed herself and stood, pushing the loose pieces of hair from her face, adjusting the gold band laced like a crown through her hair, allowing a single emerald that matched her eyes to rest against the top of her forehead. She stood, straightening the skirt of her dress which was also a deep green, and then sat on the pew, simply looking at the crucifix on the wall. She tucked her hands in her lap and simply sat in the silence.
